The Reader, Bernhard Schlink

This was a quick read, but not an easy one. It's about a boy who develops a relationship with an older woman, only to find out years later that she is on trial for unspeakable crimes committed during the Holocaust. It explores the topics of good and evil, secrets and moral responsibility, love and shame. I couldn't put it down.
